Tennis
Tennis is a sport
which requires skill, speed, stamina, endurance and
dexterity. It is a difficult game to master, but as we found
out, talent is not lacking behind in The Assam Valley
School.
Our two talented young players, Mr. Arzaman Baroowa and Ms.
Elizabeth Yambem.
ARZYAMAN BAROOWA
Arzyaman Baroowa
was ranked 28th in the junior category in Asia. He played
two Asian ITF tournaments in the year 2006 and reached
quarter- finals in singles and doubles at Dhaka in January,
2006. He played in the Asian Dhaka ITF series and ITF
Bangkok Series in 2006 and was the pre-quarter finalist in
singles and semi-finalist in doubles. He has played in many
All India Tournaments (under-14) and won prizes –Golaghat
Open, Sunfeast Juniors in Kolkota and Bangalore Talent
series etc. He was quarter-finalist for the under-18s in the
Nurul Amin Memorial 8th All Assam Junior Tennis Tournament
2008 organized by Nagaon Tennis Club, Nagaon, Assam, under
the aegis of All Assam Tennis Association.
ELIZABETH YAMBEM
Elizabeth Yambem
won the All Manipur Governor’s Tennis Championship 2006
organized by Manipur Tennis Association and also attended
Tennis Coaching Camp for National Games. She was the
quarter-finalist in the 6th All Assam Junior Tennis
Championship 2005.
