Waste Management
AVS students are
engaged in Waste Paper Recycling, Waste Segregation and
Paper Bag making. In the near future, waste will be managed
through simple techniques like Natural Composting and
Vermicomposting.
Reuse involves donating books and outgrown clothes, toys,
etc. The books that have been read and re-read or the
clothes and shoes that have been outgrown, are collected and
given to less fortunate children through child welfare
organizations, slums, orphanages and through the JRC Wing
and Social Service League.
Students also spearhead campaigns of local relevance to
enthuse local communities to change their attitudes. Major
issues which students campaign for are waste management
issues, the ill effects of the use of polythene bags and
toxic colors during Holi and the implications of bursting
crackers during certain festivals.
