DEPARTMENT OF ART

 

The Art School aims to inculcate in the pupils a love for creativity in many visual and tactile formats. The options offered are:- Oil Painting, Water colors, Glass Painting, Pencil/Charcoal sketching and shading ,Poster making, Collage, Pen & Ink monochromes, Commercial Art, Pottery and Sculpture. In the past three years, the Art school has completed murals on the walls of the Art School and mounted decorative terra cotta tiles on the pillars of the Main Gate of the school. The Art School has also built a kiln and introduced glaze work. Art works of the children were on view during the various Founders’ exhibitions as well as during Parent-Teacher Meetings.

Achievements:


In 2011, Siladitya Samir was adjudged the winner of the Pogo Amazing Kids Award (PAKA) in 2012, for the first time a group of pupils represented AVS at the 19th Inter-Public School Art Competition at the Vidya Devi Jindal School at Hissar. Shounauk Sokey received the 2nd prize for Pen & Ink, Ruchi Choudhary, Shreya Lahkar were awarded the 2nd prize in Rangoli. Aidan Nongrum & Daksha Salam won 3rdprize in Poster making and Sculpture respectively. Ruchi Choudhary’s and Shounauk Sokey ‘s paintings have been featured on the covers of the AVS calendars. Sayan Soud was ’Highly Commended’ for his effort in the Chittagong Grammar School’s Art Competition-2012.
