Offices
The varied and
challenging co-curricular activities at Junior, Middle and
Senior levels are held at various venues which include ICT
Lab, Media Centre, Music School, Dance School, Swimming Pool
Complex, Art Block, CDT Centre, Publications Room, Physics
Lab etc.
The school has state of the art ICT Lab with forty six
machines where students learn to be proficient in DTP [Desk
Top Publishing] Web Page Designing and Computer Aided
Designing.
At the Media Centre the students are equipped with media
related skills like photography, video recording, editing
etc.
In the Music School, the students learn to play varied
string instruments like sitar, sarod, violin, Hawaiian
guitar etc. and percussion instruments like tabla, drums,
congo, Assamese folk musical instruments etc.
In the Piano Room, the students industriously rehearse to
play the Piano.
In the ever expanding Dance School, the students are taught
the various classical dance forms – Bharatnatyam, Satriya
and Kathak.
Rashtriya Life Saving Society [RLSS] is a sustained
endeavour to teach swimming and first aid to an interested
group of students at the swimming pool complex.
The Art Block comprises two halls and a clay modelling room,
the walls of which reflect the creativity of budding artists
and craftsmen. Especially, in the clay modelling section,
the students learn the finer techniques of pottery-making.
In the CDT Block the students spend time weaving wicker mats
and baskets, industriously replicating cane and bamboo
furniture models. The art of weaving, the technique of tie
and dye as well as candle making i taught to the students
here.
In the Publications Room, we find budding journalists
diligently sorting out publication material, sifting through
pictures, blending technology with the written word to
timely bring out the weekly publication, AVE.
In the Physics Lab, senior students are involved in the
study of integrated circuits and their juniors are engaged
in data interpretation and weather forecasting.
All other activities are conducted in various class rooms,
library and resource centre in the Main School Building.
All outdoor activities like Botanical Garden, Nursery
Operations, Waste Management, JRC, Literacy Programme,
Social Service, Rifle Shooting etc. involve a lot of travel
to off-campus locales. |
