Introduction
The Assam Valley
School’s principal aim is to keep the teachers and students
up-to-date with the latest developments in communication
technology and connectivity world wide. The AVS has a
comprehensive IT and Communication system, which is managed
by the school’s System Administrator. The entire campus is
enabled with Internet Cellular facilities. Our solutions are
based on the Enterprise Resource Planning policy. The school
maintains an impressive 1: 7.5 man machine ratio for
students.
Telephone & EPABX System
The AVS has a
Digital EPABX system installed in the Main gate area with
250 internal and 12 external terminals. The entire campus is
connected with underground analog cables with several
distribution boxes. This EPABX is also connected with a
DSLAM (Multiplexing Device) for providing the Internet to
staff quarters.
Cellular Connectivity
The
school
have Airtel, Vodafone &
BSNL
Tower on
site.
This
provide
efficient
networks
coverage
of all
these service
providers.
Official
cell
phones
are
provided
to
various
staff
members
who hold
key
positions
including
senior
prefects
in the
school.
In
addition
to that
pupils
are
allowed
to bring
their
own cell
phones
to
school
which
are
deposited
with
their
respective
tutors
and can
be used
to call
home
over the
weekend
for a
specified
period
of one
hour.
Internet Connectivity
The AVS has 24x7
45Mbps Internet connectivity on campus with wired, wireless &
broadband facility. There are 202 official and 35 personal
nods connected to the Internet and the entire main school
building is wired with high speed Internet connectivity.
Each Boarding House is also connected with the Internet and
pupils can access Internet on their Laptops. The school has one ICT LAB with 38
Nos., Audio Visual Room with 16 Nos. and a Resource Centre
with 15 nos. computers.
