The Admission Selection Procedure at The Assam Valley School is done at two levels –classes 5 to 9 and class 11.All prospective parents are expected to register their wards for the Entrance Test. The Admissions procedure includes a Written Test followed by an Interview in the presence of the parents on the same day. Interaction with the parents is an important component of the Admission selection procedure. For entry to classes 5 to 9, all the candidates has to appear for a Written Test in four subjects-English, Mathematics, General Application paper and 2nd Language. For entry to class 11 candidates need to appear a Written Test in English, Physics,Chemistry and mathematics (Engineering stream, Commerce and Humanities streams)
A merit list is prepared on the performance of the candidates both in Written Test and Interview. Computation of result is done with 80% weightage given to the Written Test and 20% to the Interview. The selected candidate will be informed electronically or telephonic call to the prospective parents. Once a seat has been offered to a child and his parents have accepted it formally and settled the acceptance fees. The school will send a comprehensive document and submit all the necessary documents on the induction day.
