Coffee Table Book

Like other forms of expression, photography is sometimes art, sometimes craft, and sometimes just a grabbed image. The fact that photography uses technology that has developed more recently than some other forms of art often confuses this but the fact remains that expressive photography comes from an image that is made, not taken.

‘Eye of the Camera’ is a coffee table book being published since 2009 by the Photographic Society of The Assam Valley School every year during Founders’. First Eye of the Camera was published under the leadership of Mr. Prafulla M. Pradhan and his team of talented photographers. Although photography activity started at AVS from 1999 but Mr. Pradhan brought new dimensions to this activity from the year 2007-08. Since than this activity is trying its level best to set standard year after the year. The students of AVS Photographic Society have been finding a career options from this creative activity.

We organize long and short tours every year for our photographers in and beyond India. We offer outsource and in-house workshops, discussions and photography courses for our members. The AVS Photographic Society is the member of the Photography Club of Assam and Photography Society of India. Our photographers also capture various events at Campus in the form of photographic reportage. It aims to help develop in students an ethical understanding of mass media. Students understand the organization and administration of an Editorial Board and the professionalism with which it must function.
