The Assam Valley School organized a health camp on 25 February 2024. Initiated by Dr. Dimple Baruah, Senior Medical officer, AVS and Dr. Lipika Borah, Head (Social Service League), AVS, the camp was organized in Nepaligaon and Lachit Ville situated within the campus premises. What made it special was, the attending doctors were AVS alumni serving as volunteers. The alumni not only ensured quality healthcare but also exemplified their commitment to giving back to their alma mater and community the love and care they received years ago as students on the campus. The camp provided medical check-ups and treatments along with medicines, benefitting 167 individuals in Nepaligaon and 58 in the Lachit Ville, AVS. Our school social service and JRC volunteers actively engaged with local residents, assisting in check-ups and fostering meaningful interactions. Through this experience, our students developed empathy, teamwork, communication skills, and cultural understanding. This apart, the enthusiastic participation of the alumni showcased their enduring affection for the school, inspiring students to uphold its values. The event demonstrated the profound impact of collaboration between the alumni and the students in making a positive difference in society.
