20th to 23rd September 2021 were the dates for the Round Square
International Conference 2021- held online for the first time and was a never seen before experience.
This year’s theme was “Blue Skies and Brave Conversations”.
The conference was hosted online over four days on a purpose-built Round Square Gather Town Campus which combined video calling with fun features in a custom 2D world. Delegates were online for three hours each day in an environment that combined video conferencing with retro-style gaming.
The AVS Delegation comprised Dr. Pooja Jain, Mrs. Sagarika Dutta, Trinayana Saikia, Tanisha Bhadra, Shripriya Kajaria, Naviya Chamariya, Alda Nongmeirikam and Adella Masser.
Day 1 was ‘Welcome Day’, with an opening event, introductory Barazas and time to participate in live activities around the Virtual Campus.
Day 2 discussed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion through the lenses of International Understanding and Democracy.
Day 3 addressed themes relating to Climate Action through Environmental Stewardship and Adventure.
Day 4 considered Ethical and Servant Leadership, bringing together the RS IDEALS of Leadership and Service.
The whole experience was intriguing and unique. Students across the globe felt connected and included although interacting in a virtual environment.
