Catering Services

At the heart of The Assam Valley School is a love of learning which is supported by a healthy body and a healthy mind.

The Assam Valley School caters to a wide variety of students and staff members from different parts of India and the world and keeping in mind their dietary requirements the catering department produces a wide Variety of cuisines, varied, nutritious, well balanced and above all delicious to satisfy their palates.  Students are provided with a good quality catering service, using fresh and, where possible, locally produced ingredients.

The Food & Beverage Department of school is well equipped with a team of experienced Manager, Service Steward, Chef and helper Cooks and state of the art modern machines used for cooking and all other required facility in central kitchen to meet the challenge of day- to- day operation with S.O.P. laid as per the food safety management system as per FSSAI ,to cater to around 1100 person from breakfast to Dinner and Catering Covers Six meal a day .

Time Management is the key factor for Catering operations. It is a continuous process whereby, after every meal is ready for dispatch, preparation starts for the forthcoming one.  The Catering Department operates round the clock to fulfill the catering requirements of the School community.

The School menus rotate on a weekly basis and are created with input from staff and students via the School Food Committee Council which is to make sure students’ views are represented and incorporated. School kitchens can provide varied and balanced choices for a number of other special dietary requirements as and when requested by School resident Medical officer for the Students.

 

In addition to providing breakfast, lunch and dinner on a daily basis, the Central kitchens also provide packed lunches for school trips, hot and cold buffets for conferences and meetings, and silver service for special occasions.

Daily Menu is  planned keeping in mind the nutritional requirements of the growing children, their palate, time of the day, and the month, and to provide different and interesting meals to the children in our care.

The Day Starts With

  • ChotaHazri : Biscuits & Tea / Milk /Coffee/(Junior School)
  • Breakfast: Cereal / Milk / Toast/Butter / Jam / one Egg items/ Poori / Paratha (stuffed) / Bhaji Honey / Uttapam / Idli / Vada / Dosa etc.
  • Mid Morning: Sandwiches / Cake / Biscuits / Cutlet / Swiss Roll / Pancake / Fruit/Juice etc
  • Lunch: Salad / Dal / Rice / Paratha / Pickle /2 verity of  Vegetable /one verity  of Non veg /Papad / Raita & Special Lunch On Sundays & Holidays. (All Types of Cuisine Served Including Chinese / Continental/Indian/South Indian/Thai)
  • Eve Snacks: Juice (summer) / Pakora / Maggi / Cutlet / Kachori / Sandwiches / Samosa / Tea / Coffee(Winters)/ Patties / BatataVada / Milk Shakes / Pizza / Grilled Sandwich etc.
  • Dinner: Salad / Papad / Pickle / Rice/ Paratha / Dal / Non Veg / Veg / Dessert (All Types Of Cuisine Served On A Rotation Basis Indian / Chinese / Continental).
  • Special Breakfast: Juice / Wafers / French Fries / Chicken Sandwiches / Tomato Sauce / Croquette (veg) / Kathi Roll (Veg) / Grilled Sandwich etc.

Meals are taken from Central kitchen to the school’s dining hall, which seats up to six hundred in Boys central Dining hall and four hundred in girls dining hall. The modern dining hall is well ventilated, has proper natural light, and fitted with all other necessary facilities which make the halls a perfect abode to relax and enjoy good food. Service at both the halls is slick and professional ensuring that queues are getting the food smoothly and proceed to the respective tables to eat.

Catering Never Sleeps as they say, round the clock production and monitoring have made catering department the life line of “THE ASSAM VALLEY SCHOOL.”
