Sports Infrastructure
At the Assam Valley School, we take physical education very seriously. Accordingly, the School is equipped with a comprehensive array of sporting facilities.
The AVS has a Sport’s Complex, which includes a 6-lane swimming pool, an international squash court (with spectator’s gallery), a yoga room as well as a gym stocked with the latest training gadgets and equipment.
The AVS indoor Sports Hall contains four badminton courts, squash courts, table-tennis boards, and apparatus for gymnastics training. The foundations for an international basketball court are currently being laid.
The School also has a separate outdoor Games area, which consists of two international all-weather tennis courts, two standard hard surface tennis courts, two standard hard surface basketball courts and four volleyball courts.
The AVS Sports Pavilion has six large play fields to facilitate the playing of soccer, hockey and cricket, matches of which can be held simultaneously. The pavilion also has a 90 meter archery range with four lanes of target bases. Four volleyball courts, one soft-surface basketball court, an eight-lane athletics track, Throwball and Netball courts complete the sports pavilion.
